Can't Transfer App Purchases

My Mother has an iPhone and she just switched to mac. She had about $50 worth of applications on it and she wants to transfer them to her new mac so she can sync it without them all getting deleted. When she did 'Transfer Purchases' it only transfered the music and videos. Is there anyway to transfer the applications?

i think she needs to authorize her account to transfer apps to a new laptop
Open itunes ---> Store ---> Authorize this computer.

They will transfer but like said above the computer has to be authorized and logged into the same itunes account as the one on the iphone.

That is incorrect information... You most certainly can transfer apps. As others have said the computer has to be authorized, and you have to be logged in to the same account.
