I tried transferring my contacts from my 3g to my iPhone 4 using this mething:
Plug in your old iPhone

In iTunes:

* Click your XXX's iPhone icon
* Click Sync on the right side
* Go To iTunes --> Preferences --> Devices
* Make sure your phone is backed up
* Connect your new iPhone
* Click the XXX's iPhone icon
* Click restore
* After the restore, click set up as a backup

However, I'm still missing a bunch of them.

Plus, the contact sections don't even look the same.
Here is the 3g:

Not sure what I'm doing wrong...

Isn't there a way to duplicate everything on my 3G to the new one?

Hook up your old phone to iTunes, and right click on the iPhone in iTunes and select backup and then transfer purchases Then sync your contacts to Outlook or Windows Address Book (or I think it’s called Contacts with Win 7). Also, sync everything else you can sync (like Calendar, Notes….all the stuff under the Info tab when you click on your iPhone in iTunes).

Then hook up your new iPhone and click restore and then restore from a backup. See if your contacts got restored. If not, you can then sync everything to the new iPhone, but the restore from backup should handle it anyway. You can only restore contacts if the old iPhone has them when it was backed up.

Thanks! Gotta travel for the week but I'll jump on this as soon as I get back.
