can't transfer from iPhone 4 to new mbp 13

I just bought a mbp 13. I plug in my iPhone and I want to transfer. I don't sync since I was told that it would erase my iPhone of all my music and apps.

I want to transfer but I keep getting asked for my apple id and it gives me a different id. I change the id and then I enter my password and I get a message about my apps not authorized and I will lose my apps. So I type in my id and password and then I get caught up in a loop and it starts all over again asking me for my password and id.

I don't have iOS 5 yet for my iPhone. Why can't I transfer my stuff over to my new mac.

Before I had a windows pc and it crashed so I can't transfer via the pc.

This is ironic since I was told it was seamless to transfer my stuff (music, photos, apps to the mac book pro.

Help.

Use DeTune to transfer your iPhone's contents to your new Mac before updating the iPhone.
Sadly iTunes doesn't let one do a synching from iPhone/iPod to Mac.
