Can't transfer songs Itunes12.6 to new SE 2020 13.1

My IPhone 6 suddenly bricked and I hadn't backed up the music on ITunes 12.6.6 to the Cloud. I have a mid 2012 Macbook Pro running Mavericks. My new phone is an SE 2020. I'm unable to transfer music via USB from Mac/ITunes 12.6.6 to SE 2020. Any suggestions/solutions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
