Can't update apps in iTunes

I have iTunes 10.1.1.4 on a PC laptop running Vista. For at least several days I have been unable to view the usual list of available updates for my apps in iTunes which also means I can't download them at once. It always says the store is temporarily unavailable. At this point it says I have 183 updates available. I have no problem connecting to the store to purchase new apps, download podcasts, etc. I have no problems at all updating apps directly from my iPhone 4. Anybody else experiencing this or know how to fix it?
