First off, is anyone else in the world having this problem, because when I search for it, nothing comes up.
The version of Flash installed on my computer doesn't work right now because Apple has blocked it on account of it being dated. That's fine and reasonable.
The problem is, I can't update it. I go to Adobe's website and am able to download and mount the installer dmg, but then when I attempt to launch the actual installer, it never stops bouncing. I've given it several minutes and checked it in Terminal via the top command - it's not using up any CPU and the amount of memory it claims (7616K) never changes, so AFAICT, it's doing absolutely nothing.
I'm on OS X 10.10.1 (Yosemite) and trying to update to Flash version 16.0.0.235. The installer itself is version 2.0.2.13. This is on a Mid 2007 iMac.
Actually, as I type this, I'm noticing that it stopped bouncing in my dock. The memory consumed has dropped slight to 7580K. The installer is still in my dock although it doesn't have a dot under it to indicate that it's running.
So... is anyone else having problems with this? Any suggestions for how I can work around this or do I just have to sit tight and wait for Adobe to fix their installer or, if it's an OS problem, for Apple to fix that?
