I usually update my phone via cable on my macbook rather than over the air, just prefer doing it that way. When i got my 13 pro I tried to do the 15.0 update but kept getting an error. Thought it was because I was using a 3rd party cable so just did OTA.

Now I've tried a genuine cable for 15.0.1 update and still get the attached error. Tried restarting my laptop and phone but get the same error. Turned off Malware Bytes as I thought that may be causing it but still no joy.

Any ideas?

Not sure out of the gate - but do you have another computer to try from there? Just to rule out any potential issues with the one you were using.

Yeah I can try my wife's macbook- I'm using an m1 air running 11.5.2 so I don't see why this should be affecting it but you never know

I had the same issue yesterday, but then my iPhone 13 pro max locked up and I had to spend 3 hours at Apple for them to replace my iphone. I was stuck on the connect to laptop screen.

I don’t see the root cause at this stage either but at least you can then pinpoint to the Mac or iPhone and think of your next steps. Please let us know how it went and best success!

Jees thats annoying, maybe I’ll just do OTA!

I believe there is an update for the Mac for connecting to the newer phones. It showed up on one of our Macs when we were restoring a newer phone.

Just do an OTA update, this isn't Windows 95.

I spent a few hours yesterday fixing my soft bricked iPad when I wanted to see what everyone was complaining about. Boy, that is a legitimate complaint there....

So yeah, do a OTA update let the iPhone communicate directly with Apple servers instead of adding in a middle man.
