iPod touch Can't Update iPod touch 2G to 4.0.2

Ive been trying for about a week to update my iPod touch 2G 8GB. currently its on jailbroken 4.0

I can't update or restore it at all.

When I try, the following message is shown

"The iPod "iPod" cannot be restored at this time becuasethe iPod software update server could not be contacted or is temporarily unavailable.

Please try again later"

Any ideas for restoring or updating?
