IT seem this update like force those never set admin password go set one. I keep figure out my admin password is correct yet cannot activate the restart under the setting update there. So I go hold the power button turn on the iMac and set a new admin password. Now about to do the update.

Actually I not worry , as Only I using this iMac in my home thus I never set admin password.

side note how to disable the need to key in password while I activated sleep mode and wakeup the imAC AS it need me to key in password.

That is very naive:
1) a visitor can use your account and identity, unless you are always with him/her,
2) you have no control about intruders, even when you never leave the house.
Many computer users learned the use of passwords the hard way.

On modern systems some functions do not work at all if user password is not set.
... and it's all with the best intentions. Microsoft and APPLE just want you to be protected.
Compare: formerly, people in villages could leave the door open, contrary to people in cities.
Since then everybody lock their windows and doors, because of, what we call, "evolution" of the society.
Take care!

The difference is, the choice is ours. If I want to leave my door open, I can. If I want chose to not have a password on the computer I own, I should be allowed.

Microsoft and APPLE just want you to be protected.
Microsoft has no such intentions, they're more about forcing users to have online accounts to collect data, they bend over backwards at trying to close the ways that allow PC users to install and use local accounts.

Making decisions for me, is quite big brother-ish. They know better then me, so they're forcing the computer to do certain things?

Ok So I managed to get it update with the admin password " since all long i never set , when I get this iMac in 2024 " Now interesting is I set never require password while go sleep mode and wake up ,

now wake up the iMac need to input the password despite I set Never. Firevault also check is off.
