I'm in itunes not and I have version 4.2.6 and when I click check for update it says that this is the current version.... am I missing something???

4.3 is only for GSM iPhones. In America, the only GSM iPhones are the AT&T ones. Since you have 4.2.6, that means that you have a Verizon iPhone. These do not support 4.3.

Didn't want to start a new topic, witht eh exact same name.
My issue is different, however.
I Jailbroke my 4.2.1 iPhone4, and many apps have disappeared, including the Phone, iPod, SMS, Contacts, Safari.
I jailbroke it several more times, but the problem persists.
I used greenp0ison, since Pwnage tool wasn't working. iTunes kept giving me the "cannot upgrade message."
I then decided to update it to the non-jailbroken, legitimate 4.3 firmware, but iTunes keeps giving me the same error!
What do I do?!
I'm desperate. I NEED, to use my phone =,(

If you used tiny umbrella to save SHSH. Itunes is cannot contact the Apple servers. Is it error 1013 ?
I can explain how to change this back if you want me too.
Will need to know what OS your using? ie win xp/7 etc.

Or you could just update on another PC/Mac that hasnt had tiny umbrella on it ever. just removing TU is not enough. You need to remove some file lines.

Thanks terencemac.
I decided to mess with the hostst file, and deleted two entries.
I upgraded to 4.3 out of desperation, but it wasn't after all of this happened that I finally understood what was going on. You were right. Tiny Umbrella modified the hosts file.
I wasn't able to save the SHSH blobs with TU, but i did it with Cydia.
I think i might be able to downgrade back to a Jailbroken 4.2.1.
The only thing is that now my baseband is 04.10.01... But it's okay. I hear a JB and unlock for for 4.3 with that baseband will be coming out soon.
