Can't update to 7.0.3 on 5s

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help before I kill my 5s

Trying to update from 7.02 to 7.03 via cabled connection to my iMac, I tunes is on the new version and the phone backed up and sync'd ok but when I try to install the update I get an error message and a code that's not listed anywhere

I've restarted both the phone and iMac and no change

Trying that now but it's taking an age over the wifi for some reason. With the time remaining varying between 17 minutes and 1 hour.

exactly and i'm on a fast optical fibre connection, my iPad has done the update in 1/4 of the time via the usb connection to my iMac where the phone failed.

The reason for doing the restore is something obviously is wrong and may be the only way to get the problem fixed on the devices end

it's finally finished an over the air update (95mb for the 5s), I'd really wanted to do it through iTunes so it would download the complete software package in an attempt to help ward off the evil BSOD that's plagued my 5s since delivery.
