Can't update to Quicktime 7.3

Trying to use the software update to upgrade to QT 7.3 it says "The update Quicktime can't be saved. You do not have appropriate access priveleges. The installer package has been moved to the trash."

Say what?!?!?

I entered my password correctly. I'm the admin on my user profile. Why won't it let me upgrade from 7.2 to 7.3?

Went to Apple's download page and downloaded it manually and it installed fine. Is there a bug in Leopard's software update?
