Cant upgrade to 2.1

Help!
I cant upgrade to 2.1 because it requires a backup
my phone has been sitting just past the halfway point for hours now!
It shouldnt take that long to update software
this is ridiculious

That is strange. You should be able to cancel the back-up as usual. I'm not sure why it would specifically need a back-up for a software update. Try leaving it for as long as possible otherwise I'm not sure. Ironic that the update to fix back-ups isn't backing up...

i'm having the same trouble... mine gets to a certain point and just sits there. I can cancel the backup by just pressing escape but the the update isn't complete then. So i'm stuck with 2.02! hellllllllllllllppppppppppppp!
