Can't upgrade to ios 5.0.1

I have an ipad 2 with IOS 4.3.5. I want to update to 5.0.1 so i can jailbreak it when it is possible, but i can't.. i hit update, it starts working and then it says "the network connection has timed out", but my internet works perfectly.. what should i do?

How does your Mac (or PC) connect to the Internet? The iOS 5.x package is quite large - if you are connecting over Wi-Fi, can you try connecting to your router physically (via network cable)?
