I have a weird issue. I downloaded lion on my MBP 13 2011 and it allowed me to upgrade just fine. I attempted to repeat the process on my 2010 mba - and downloads correctly but when I start the install after a while it boots me to recovery where I can install a fresh copy... if I reboot it just takes me back to the utility, but if I select my OSX partition I can boot back into 10.6.8. I have bootcamp with windows 7

A fresh install boots you into the recovery partition?

I'm not trying to fresh install though, I want to upgrade in place. But it doesn't seem to want to do that. It boots me into the utility after 3 mins of prep.
