Can't use 16:10-ratio for my new monitor

Hey

I just bought a new 16:10 22" LG Flatron W2242T monitor yesterday. I've hooked my monitor up to my mac, but the screen keeps being in a 4:3 ratio (I have black bars on both sides of the screen which are about an inch wide). I've tried choosing different resolutions including 1680 by 1050. Anyone know how to fix this?

This monitor seems to have a 4:3 mode. Try pushing some buttons and using the monitor's OSD.
