Can’t use 60 Hz as refresh rate

Hello there

My Mac mini 2018 is connected to a 4K TV in 60 Hz. I switched briefly to my Apple TV for screen mirroring and came back to my TV. The screen went black. I restarted and same problem. I turned it off and unplugged everything.

The Mac came back to life but with a high resolution 3840x2160. Everything was small. I switched back to 1920 in a scaled but my TV showed 30 Hz. I press the option button but it doesn’t show the option to change the refresh rate.

How can I force this option to appear?

I found it myself. I even called Apple but they couldn’t help.

Actually you have to tick “Show low resolution modes” to display the option refresh rate. So weird.
