So I'm overseas and did a walk this morning using the workout app. Problem is I can't see the data on either my apple watch S3 LTE or on my iPhone. I have replaced my home country sim card with a local sim card to use my iPhone here so the Apple watch cellular plan from my home country won't work. That's totally fine. I was never expecting to have cellular support for my AW whilst overseas.
But surely the fact I've turned off cellular on my apple watch means it should just function like a non cellular apple watch and it should put all my workout activities onto the phone... yeah? The iPhone app says i need to turn it on on my watch and the watch says I need to turn it on on my phone... Catch 22 shenanigans ahoy!
All my previous work out summaries are gone on my iPhone! Everything. I'm hoping that data will reappear once I reinsert my home country sim when I arrive home.
Doesn't anybody have any fix for this? I tried searching on the net and can't find anything, but surely there has to be somebody in the same situation as me.
Thanks.
UPDATE: seems fitness tracking was turned off in my privacy settings. I didn't do that. Bloody Apple decided to do that for some reason. Always annoys me when they reset settings and don't tell you. That has now allowed me to see it on my watch, but still not on my phone...
