How cool would it be if, as the AR story evolves on AVP, all the good ideas come to some sort of "Vision mode" that you can easily enable on iPhone, totally bypassing the Home screen of the phone and the app drawer? Pull out your phone, point it at something, place an object there. Pick it up next time, and the object is still there. Instead of launching apps, just point it at stuff and things happen. In the outside world, developers and businesses could "claim" objects or spaces in the real world that are augmented for everyone.
The headset may take forever to turn into a pocketable pair of glasses, but the iPhone is already in our pockets, and could become the AR device we want much sooner.
