Can't watch HD videos...

I cant watch videos on youtube in hd quality when im using 3g network but it works when im over wifi.

Anyone know why ??

Open safari, type m.youtube.com, select HQ when selecting video right before playing it.

Usually because when you're over a 3G network it selects the lower quality bitstream.

Do more than that...

Once you're on Mobile Youtube, hit the + button at the bottom and add a link to it on your homescreen.

Then go to the phone's settings > general > restrictions and turn the Youtube app OFF.

Youtube's Mobile site is now better than the actual Youtube app. Ditch the app and just use the site!

With the app you get High Quality (not HD) on Wifi and Low Quality on 3G. That's it.

With the mobile site, use the "HQ" button under the video. It should be red before you hit play on the video. It's not the full HD version, but whatever version it is it's a version that looks great on the iPhone 4 which is all I care about.

Try this on your iPhone with the HQ button turned on:
