Any ideas? I can copy off of it, but cant drag a file to it, it gives me a read/write error. Tried multiple files, same deal. There are no options turned on for my hard drive to disallow this, wondering whats going on.????

If this drive has been used on a windows machine this can happen. If it is formatted as NTFS is will be read only on your mac. You will have to reformat it to fat32 or a apple format if you want to write. Just a thought, I'd check the formating.

nah, this drive has only been on a mac, just havent turned it on in about a week, before that, no problems, and I dont want to have to reformat the drive
