I have a 2017 MacBook Pro. Just today, the caps lock key has stopped working, though the 'caps lock on' light is always on. Mercifully, it's not in caps lock mode. Tapping the key changes nothing - the light stays on, and caps lock doesn't work. Any thoughts on how to fix this?
TIA

I would not just "tap the key". Check if the caps lock LED goes out, after 6-8 hard "bangs" on Caps Lock (harder than tapping!) Does the Caps Lock LED ever go off, or, (worse yet), does it slip into Caps Lock mode?
If Caps Lock is not actually working, then I think your only fix will be a keyboard replacement.

The 2017 MacBook Pros are known to have unreliable keyboards but the caps lock key on Apple computers requires the user to hold it for just a second or so to avoid accidentally switching it on. If you hold it, does the key work?

It's also possible to (carefully) remove the key to clean any dirt/grit under there but a 2017 model is one of those butterfly mechanism ones - Apple were doing replacements until recently.
