Hey all--just a quick question from a relative newcomer to video. I have an old mini-dv cam that I need to blank a number of tapes from, and I'd like to back them up first. I've been dumping them into my comp via QuicktimePro, and I was wondering if the quality would be significantly higher if I was importing via Final Cut? I have 5.5 and can use it, but Quicktime obviously uses less system resources, so if I can keep dumping via Quicktime and getting about the same quality (set to native in the QTP settings) then that's what I'll do...

Thanks!

Quality is the same. All that's happening is the data is getting copied from the tape to the computer. There's no conversion or transcoding going on.
