Capture video from a Canon XL-1

Hi all,

My current setup is i7 with g-raid setup via fw800 (using it as scratch disk). I have an old Canon XL-1 and I would like to capture DV from the XL-1 onto the g-raid.

I just want to know how I can hook up the Canon XL-1 for video capture. The XL-1 uses a different firewire cable. Do I need an adaptor?

Any help appreciated.

You need a 4-pin to 9-pin Firewire cable.

It should not cost more than 5€, but there are more expensive ones of course.
And overpriced ones.

Thanks for the info. I guess the setup would be:

imac<=>g-raid<=>canon xl1 (via the cable you mentioned)
