Looking to import some 15 or more miniDV tapes to my iMac.
What would be the best way to go about this?
Should I use FCE or iMovie? Is one better than the other?
For my newer HD camera, I use FCE when I want to import video.
I've never worked with my older camera so I'm not sure which one would be better.

Help?

I'd assume you'll mix the videos later on. Just use FCE. Don't forget the correct Easy Setup before capturing.

Yes

Use FCE and a FireWire hook up. If you only have FireWire 800 you need to buy a converter piece since most MiniDv cams use FireWire 400, there about 7 bucks at Frys.
Use easy set up and Capture video

Don't use them adaptor pieces, but get a simple 9>4pin cable. The more connectors you have in a cable run, the more trouble you run into... and those 4pin connectors by themselves are already pain enough.
