Using Hauppage HD DVR, connected to wii thru component cables and I'm finding the image quality from the screen captures is inferior to what is being displayed on my TV. Is this down to the Mac Mini, EyeTV software or the Hauppauge? The image is dull, darker and not as vibrant or sharp. Same for DVDs.

Hope someone can help!

What kind of display do you have on your Mac Mini?

DELL 1707FP:
1280 x 1024 @ 60 Hz

thanks!

Make sure the Color Settings for your monitor are set for sRGB or a Color Temperature of 6500K ( this is accessed by the hardware buttons on the monitor ).

Then I would go through the System Prefs -> Displays -> Color Tab

Select "Calibrate",
click the check box "Expert Mode" and then follow the instructions carefully.

This should help as much as possible, but it's not going to ever look the same as your TV because your monitor is only 6bits per channel and your TV is likely 8bits or higher.

Hope this helps!
