I'm finding a lot of things that will charge the phone but only plays through an aux in port, is there anything that plays like a regular dock for the classic ipod?

I am not sure of any exactly, but a user here made a custom dock using some sort of package that plays the iPhone through the dock connector, maybe you could look at his setup and see if he says how, or ask him yourself. Here is a link to his thread on it:

Connects to the head unit of your car. It currently doesn't charge the iPhone 3g but their news section says to expect the release of a 3g compatible product by end of August. So, hopefully soon..?

You could always go with an FM transmitter? Depends on your city really. I use a Belkin FM transmitter that docks and charges from the Apple store almost a year ago for around $100 and it's great. I get the occasional static noise, but I just switch it to a different channel.

P.S. I live in Austin, TX:D
