I know there's a thread on various car radio interface problems both with the Lightning to USB cable and Lightning to 30 pin adapter but I'd like specific feedback on this fix for the adapter that helped me.
If you have a radio-specific 30 pin cable coming out of your head unit or a gateway like an iSimple with the same AND you can't get it to work, please try this:
Start with nothing connected - no adapter in the phone or connected to your 30 pin cable.
Reboot your iP5
Start the iPod app and start a song playing
Insert the adapter into the phone
Connect the adapter to the 30 pin cable from your radio/gateway
This exact sequence works for me and continues to work as long as I disconnect the 30 pin cable from the adapter first. If I remove the adapter from the phone first the radio gets fubar.
