Car kit using dock connector charger/line-out plus microphone?

Will this combination work for a car kit (for charging, playing music through stereo, and handsfree calling)?:

(1) Split charging/line-out dock connector

-- connect USB charger to cigarette lighter usb adapter and line-out to stereo aux-in

Plus ...

(2) a microphone connected to the iPhone:

Griffin SmartTalk

or

Monster iSoniTalk

or

cheap mini microphone

My main concern is whether or not the dock connector line-out will output the other caller's voice to the speakers at the same time as the headset jack will receive my voice input.

Anyone using a similar setup or have any thoughts on feasibility?

EDIT: BTW, looking for a wired solution, not Bluetooth or FM transmitter or etc.

Well, in case anyone is interested, I figured out it won't work. Plugging in headset/headphones on the iPhone disables the line-out through the dock connector.

I'm on a quest to find a mic that connects through the dock connector at the bottom instead and then we can connect the incar connector to the mic...


Have u ever looked for a product like that?

Nope, can't be done - the phone audio cannot be directed through the dock connector unfortunately.

dont know what kind of car or truck you have but see if they have a solution.

i just installed the iSimple gateway with the bluetooth module..

now i have direct link for the iphone and charges the phone..

with the bluetooth module i can stream music also instead of using the direct cable , can recv and make calls...voice dial...listen voicemails....etc... over the speakers in my truck...they mounted a small mic above my rear view mirror..

they also mounted an iphone holster to my dash at an angle...

very cool set up for not having bought all this factory from GMC.
