Are there any car stere people in the forum? I'm looking to upgrade the head unit in my 98 Accord EX because it hasn't played CD's in a long time and I'm getting tired of the radio. I've been doing a little searching but I honestly haven't bought anything like this in 10 years and there's so many new bells and whistles I don't know what I'm missing or should be looking for, if anything. I'd like a double DIN instead of a single because I want the whole space filled and singles just don't look very good in double spaces. Otherwise I'd like a cd player, radio, and the usual stuff. I'd be interested in usb/mini plug input for iPod/iPhone but I'm not super attached to the idea. Here's a couple I like but I can't seem to find many more. Are double size head units really that uncommon now?

Try crutchfield.com They're pretty big on car stereos.


I installed a single-din Sony stereo in my 02 Civic about a year ago. Messed up the wiring for the AC controls while installing it. Now, the lights on the knobs don't turn on when I turn the lights of the car on. Not a big deal, but I wish it was still intact. Twas a pain in the ass to open the dash though.

I second the motion for Crutchfield.com. That's where I get my car stereo equipment.

I have an Alpine CDA-105 in my truck and a 30GB iPod Classic connected to it which sits in the glove box.

Here is the closest model to mine that is available. The 105 has been discontinued since I got it several years ago.

I also recommend Blaupunkt, i have seen it in a couple of cars and they look like the alpine and i think might be a bit cheaper than them (i am not sure so don't quote me on it if i said it wrong).
