As someone who doesn't exactly lose his keys often, I haven't bought an AirTag yet. I thought of a great use the other day, tracking the car!

Is this something that is practical with the AirTag or not? I'm thinking if I go to a big city and park I could maybe relax a tad more and depend on the tag and iPhone to direct me back.

What do you mean when you say, "direct me back"? Your iPhone already provides directions to your parked car. AirTags won't help with that.

Would the AirTag and the arrow that points you not be much better in a multi-storey car park for example?

Yeah, it is freaking weird that you can track people like that
Lots of mugs use it to track luxury vehicles and stole them

doesn't it pop up on an iPhone saying someone else's AirTag is travelling near you?
Yes, after some time (usually hours) a message will popup on your iPhone letting you know there is an unknown tag that has been following you. Apparently there's an app for it on Android as well.

But it's not without its issues, sounds like Apple is addressing though.

Just bear in mind you really want to remove the sounder for this (see ifixit for details). I have ones in a van, motorcycle and pushbike as one element of theft protection.
