I'm looking for an USB adapter that I could use in my car to charge an iPhone 5 and an iPad. This one (http://www.amazon.com/Griffin-Power...id=1347765063&sr=8-1&keywords=griffin+car+usb) looks nice, small, and unnoticeable. However, I'm not sure if it can normally charge an iPhone and an iPad at the same time.

Do any of you guys have a USB adapter in your car?

Second review down on that page says it won't charge an iPad and honestly I believe them after reading its 2amp but split between the two USB ports so really it's 1amp per port.

I bought this

It's 2.1 amp which is what you are really looking for when it comes to iPad charging.

What are the chances of ruining your iPhone's or iPad's battery when you charge them in the car?

Most if not all car chargers have a fuse so if there is a surge the fuse will stop the surge from getting to your devices. All you'll have to do is replace the fuse.

Pretty slim. I've been doing it for years and haven't had any problems with any of them.

I have a lot of chargers, mostly griffin, but this is the latest one I bought:

It can charge 2 iPad 3s at the same time. It's a beast. I usually use a Griffin Autopilot, but unfortunately it can't charge an iPad, but works great to charge and play music through your iPhone with one connection.

Can't wait until they come out with a lightning connector version.
