Hi everyone, just thought I'd share my 'success' story (primarily due to my stupidity/naivety).
I'd been getting the following problem when trying to clone an iMac image. Basically, I was booting into OS X from my firewire drive, then taking an image of the iMac hard drive and saving it to another partition on my firewire drive. Hope that makes sense!
Anyway, I was getting the error "<volume> is unsuitable given the source volume and options chosen".
Basically, there isn't much help for this problem anywhere. Eventually however, I realised the problem was due to the partition on the firewire drive not being big enough for the image. Simple resolution to a problem I created I know, but I just thought I'd share the error message.
The CCC error message although correct, was a bit vague
