Any reasons/suggestions why Carbon Copy is takin FOREVER to clone my HD. I just bought this 2.0 160gig External and it is takin FOREVER. Does it usually take this long? I'm tryin to copy it so i can do a clean install of Tiger, but at this rate OS 11.49 will be out...

First, USB 2.0 isn't very good for continuous high throughput transfers, regardless of the 480 Mbit/sec spec (this is really just a max burst rate, not a sustained rate). You'd do a lot better with Firewire400 or 800. Secondly, you didn't say how much data you are transferring. I just CC'd my drive, for the same reason, last weekend. I have a DP 2.5 GHz G5 and an external FW backup drive (7200 RPM). It still took well over an hour to do the backup.

Edit: Forget to say I backed up 100 GB.

i didn't realize that my users folder w/ all the iTunes and iPhoto stuff was on the clone list... my bad
