Just a suggestion to those wavering over which iPhone to buy. If you stack two pieces of cardboard together from let's say an Amazon box, you get pretty close to the thickness of the new iPhones. All you need to do then is get out a ruler, pencil out the measurements, and use a box opener or letter opener to make the proper cutouts.

After doing so, the 4.7" seems like a natural fit and the 5.5" is still manageable for a guys hands. I'll be going for the 5.5" for sure after this trial.
 
That's what I did. However it's still hard to see how it fits in the hand because the cardboard doesn't weigh enough for it to fit well in your hand.
