Does it work, if you open the app using the complication, wait for data to load then return to the watch face? If so, mine does this. I stopped using Cardiogram as my watch complication, I think Heartwatch has a better complication with the low - High and current.

Mine worked when I opened it using the complication and allowed it to load. I haven't used Cardiogram as a complication in at least a year, HeartWatch has worked flawlessly for me.

I need to go to my watch app on the iPhone (11) uninstall the Cardiogram app & re-install it to work. I need to do this every day in order for it to work & the same thing happens on my wife's AW4.

No apps/complications show real-time heart rate on the Apple Watch, specifically because the Apple Watch does not do continuous HR monitoring. When you’re idle, it checks only every 5-10 minutes (possibly longer; earlier version of watchOS were around 10 minutes). If you’re walking/moving, it’ll check more frequently. When you’re in a workout, then it will check every 1-5 seconds.

The Apple Watch, when left on the HR app or 3rd party app, will run the sensor continuously, but your battery will be dead in no time if you left it that way. Switch away to another app or back to the watch face, and the OS returns to checking every 5-10 minutes.

Real time wasn’t best choice of words. Cardiogram is not working at all. I tap on the complication and nothing.

Heart Rate app is doing fine.

I have the same problem as well - I believe Apple did something with watch os 6 - heart analyzer does not work as well. The one that works better for me is Pulse 24 - try this. Thanks!

I noticed Cardiogram was working on my Modular Face. So, put it back on my Infogragph Face.

Seems to be working again---🤔

Well it worked for a few minutes now stopped again. Back to Heart Rate.

Bumping this thread. I have been using HeartRate. It used to update my heart rate periodically and display the updated rate on the watch face without needing me to refresh or tap on the screen. Recently this has stopped working (along with the notifications of fast or slow heart rates). I wrote the developer and he said to uninstall, cancel permissions, reboot and reinstall and other steps. He says it's iOS 13 that is causing havoc. He did say he is working on a major update that he wants to release before Christmas.

In the meantime, I tried Apples' own heart rate complication on my watch and I was surprised it doesn't show live updated heart rates. It only shows a heart that you have to touch to see your heart rate.

So is there an app that will update and display heart rates on the watch face without needing to be manually refreshed?

Thanks in advance.
