Not to Carlsbad. FV or UTC. With all the problems you've had with your first generation iMac, I'm surprised you're not waiting to see if there are any reported issues with the iPad.
 
There is a difference in the price of the two

Ipad pricing is disposable income for me so if there is something wrong no big deal to swap it out.

It is also much easier to carry this for repair than an Imac.
