Carol King "Tapestry"

Great song! I know what a Tapestry is, but in her song exactly what does she mean by "Tapestry?" Just curious, if you go by the dictionaries definition it doesn't quite fit.

But I am sure I am missing something.

There are lots of web pages that come up in a search for "Carole King Tapestry meaning" but none of them seemed particularly insightful. "My life has been a Tapestry..." Simply, "I've had lots of varied experiences". I'm sure it goes deeper than that superficial interpretation though.
