CarPlay CarPlay connection wifi showing 4G

Hi, I am setting up Apple Carplay in my new car. When I connect to my car's Wifi with my iphone it shows 4G. Should it show the Wifi icon? And the car's screen when Apple CarPlay is connected also shows 4G. Should this be the Wifi icon as well?

Yes it should show your mobile data connection. Although Car Play uses WiFi for the connection to your phone it uses mobile data to connect to the outside world.
