Since upgrading to iOS 18.5, my CarPlay often won’t connect unless I power the phone off and on again.

Does anyone else have this problem?

No problems connecting here, unless connection sharing is in use on the iPhone (I have a shortcut on the Control Center to disconnect any connected devices). If you use a VPN, try removing it for a few days & see if that helps.

The only issue I've encountered with CarPlay, and I can't guarantee it's only since 18.5, is that the whole system will disconnect occasionally, for a few seconds. CarPlay screen goes back to default for the car, then the phone reconnects & continues on as it was - audio starts back up, maps resumes directions. If I'm listening to something from the phone the audio will start glitching a few seconds prior to it disconnecting. It might do it once or twice in an hour, on a long drive - very seldom on my typical ~20 min or less drives. 2022 Chevy factory wireless CarPlay, if it matters.

I just got a Tacoma and it's doing that. Only connects about half the time. Have to restart the phone or CarPlay in the truck. Driving me crazy and just haven't had time to get back to Toyota.

Mine doesn‘t connect when my AirPods Pro 2 are connected. Doesn’t matter if I listen to music or am I in a call or I just have them in my ears.
As soon as I put them in the case, connected.

I've experienced on '22 X5M, where if I have my 14 Pro plugged in/charging, and reach 100% charge, I pull the wire out and that seems to solve my disconnect problem (if I get it in time). If I don't get it in time, seems like a complete shut off of vehicle and disconnect is required.

I'm CarPlay via Wi-Fi and/or Wired connection (so, always Wi-Fi maybe?)

I’m having that issue on my ‘22 Hyundai Tucson since updating to 18.5. Some days I can’t connect to CarPlay and just have to use Bluetooth. I never had this issue until I updated to 18.5.
