So I just bought a 2019 Jeep Compass Altitude. It has a brand new Uconnect radio system (the dealer had to replace it before I bought it).

The problem I’m having is when the radio or Apple Music is playing, the GPS will talk (I can hear it but not understand what it says) but the music does not lower like it normally would. I’ve only used Apple CarPlay with rentals, and it just worked.

Is there a setting I need to check? I’ve looked and can’t find something that sticks out “this will solve the problem”. Anyone know if this is an issue with Uconnect or what is happening?

From google search on iPad mini:
To fix low CarPlay volume, check your iPhone's Sound Check setting, adjust volume during active alerts like navigation, and ensure your car's system isn't muted or set to a low level. Other potential solutions include trying a different USB cable, restarting your phone and car, and verifying that phone volume is also turned u

Adjust volume on car play

Yes, it’s not really the volume of the music/carplay it’s specifically with the GPS. I already Google this, and it was not helpful.

I had a very similar problem, if you’re using the GPS on your iPhone. What worked for me was not futzing with the iPhone, but rather turning up the volume on my car when a direction came over; that fixed it (for me). Good luck!

Owned a lot of various Jeeps with UConnect systems. Since the car is used I would reset the system which should be someone in the settings so at least you have a fresh start. For GPS volume specific issues, a lot of systems using CarPlay require you to adjust the navigation/GPS volume while it's talking. Suggest starting a route and when it starts to talk adjust the volume as normal.
