I think a change has been made in iOS11/WatchOS4. I don't like it and it's really bugging me, and hoping someone here knows how to stop it.
When I plug my phone into CarPlay and play music, my Apple Watch now seems to automatically open up the now playing app. I'm 99% sure it never did this before yesterday.
What's even more annoying is the music app stays open on my watch and I have to manually close it every single time to go back to my main watch face, as it stays open for a while, even though my show last app option is set to the lowest possible "while in session".
Looked at music settings, carplay settings and watch settings and can't seem to find anything relating to this or to turn this action off. I've talked to Apple online support and they don't seem to have answer right now, the case been moved up to the engineers.
