CarPlay CarPlay Siri has no internet connection

So yesterday I had my iPhone 11 replaced due to an overheating issue.
Plugging the new unit in to my car I can listen to music, podcasts, audible mostly streaming rather than downloads. Maps works and I can send text messages.
however when I hit the screen to get Siri to read a text message it’s spends an eternity thinking about it then claims there’s no internet connection when clearly there is.
Any ideas?

I had already waited 24 hours but apparently 48 was just the ticket. Also updated the OS as I didn’t realise it was out of date so I’m not sure if that was it.
