I'm starting to get a bit mixed up with looking for new cables.

I currently have an iPhone 14 Pro, that has the lightning connection. I'll be moving to the iPhone 17 Pro soon, which has the USB C connection. My car has a USB A connections. I have a ton of USB A to Lightning cables, but no USB A to USB C cables.

I've started to look at USB A to USB C cables, but I'm confused to which ones are sync cables and which ones are just charge cables. My car is wired CarPlay. What cables are recommend?

As a further question. I know Apple has certified compatibilities... is that the MFI standard or should I be looking for something else to know cables are compatible?

I use an Anker USB A to USB C cable for my iPhone. I first bought a cheap no name brand cable and that caused constant disconnects. Got my Anker cable and it has been absolutely bulletproof, lesson learned.

I’m also in this situation. I’ve got a few USB-A to C but most came as charging cables. One is from a PreSonus audio interface so that one was def designed for data, I’ll try that first. If it doesn’t work I’ll have to order the Anker @Outdoordude01 posted above.

I had the same challenge and went with a Belgian cable. It only charges up to 15w but my guess is that my car usb-a probably only charges at 5w. So far so good all works well.

The description includes an image that says that cable passes data at 480 Mbps (i.e., USB 2.0).
Thanks, in spite of me looking for that, I somehow missed it. USB 2.0 is totally sufficient for CarPlay.
