Just throwing a very improbable idea for the next iPhone release: Apple works with Carriers and allows customers on yearly upgrade programs to upgrade to the new phone as long as their year with the phone ends in 2014.

I know its a very different scenario, but I'm pretty sure a few years ago Apple worked with AT&T to allow customers whose contract ended that year to upgrade to the newest iPhone. Again, those were different times.

I highly doubt this would happen but I just thought this would be a neat thing.

Thoughts?

With Next, Edge and Jump programs that'll bring carriers more dough? I highly doubt it. That said, I do recall that AT&T has gone back to 18-20 month upgrade cycles so it's quite possible if your 2-year contract ends in 2014 that you'll be eligible for full subsidy.
