Where I live my iPhone 3G carrier is T-Mobile NL, before my 2.1 upgrade, my iPhone showed the whole carrier name without the NL. Now it just shows T-Mo...

I find this irritating because, for 1 it doesn't look very nice, and 2nd whenever I turn the iPhone on from standby T-Mobile NL "slides" back and forth a few times then rests at T-Mo...

Any ideas why this would have changed, and if their is a way to change it back?

For clarification, 1st pic is what I have now, 2nd pic is what I had pre-2.1.

It looks like they made the Carrier area a fixed size, I say that because my AT&T has a lot of space to its right before the EDGE logo. Before, they were right next to each other.

Good observation! I also just noticed this as well on my pictures, the space between 3G on my 2.1 pic is bigger than the one on my old pre 2.1 pic. So they must have made it a fixed size like you said.

I wonder why?
