Carrier choice for off-contract/full-retail?

It looks like in the past, a full-retail, off-contract, unlocked phone, we could only choose the AT&T variant. Does anyone know whether it will be possible to buy the Verizon/LTE/CDMA iPhone5 unlocked? :confused:

No they are not available without contract except to existing customers.
