So, I've had an iPhone since the 3G days. Back then the only game in town was AT&T and unlimited plans with zero restrictions on the data were the norm. I've kept that plan but AT&T made changes last year basically preventing the option to carry this on to a new device. To add insult to injury they started bumping up the monthly cost, I expect to close out the remaining accounts.

Now that I'm looking at a new iPhone I'm looking at new plans and maybe even a new carrier. Looking for suggestions for single device plans and what to consider when dealing with each carrier. In my area all 4 carriers work fairly well so that is not a concern. I know the cell chip for Verizon is different than for AT&T. How about Sprint? TMobile? What else should I consider? If I travel to Europe should that be a consideration when selecting a US provider?
