Mandatory that's what she said aside, this glitch has been bugging me on the lock screen:

Thanks but that still doesn't quite cut it. The friggin' name is just too long. I suppose it's about time I changed carriers or you know, wait for the final version of the os which will hopefully return the "scrolling" feature ala iOS 6.

It could potentially be tidied up with a carrier settings update once 7 officially launches. The settings file can override the name provided by the network (e.g. "Vodafone NZ" is shortened to "Voda NZ" here).

Best would be if Apple allows us to hide the carrier name altogether. My beautiful mind actually knows and is able to memorize what company I have service from, so I don't need that to take up space for no good reason.

It would be one less reason to jailbreak as well.

I know this is a bit off topic, but do you mind sharing the wallpaper? Thanks!

Also, I think they should get rid of the top and bottom arrows to fix this problem - as well as offerring a cleaner look.

Apple ways to avert blame:

  • You're holding it wrong.
    [*]Change carrier
  • TBA

CONFIDENTIAL - DO NOT DISTRIBUTE
:apple:

But seriously, I'm sure they'll get around to fixing this. I would assume a scrolling title as some carriers will most likely not wish to cull their name on a device where the only tie to the actual carrier is the carrier name.

If they would get rid of the pointless dots for signal strength and go back to much more compact bars that are pretty much standard in the industry, they could help a bit too.

Please show is your home screen. This wallpaper is stunning with iOS 6. What does it look like with iOS 7?

These iOS 7 signal indicators are so bizarre; for a minimalist company, those indicators take up a lot more than space than the traditional indicators.

My carrier is the best! Hah

I like the new dots...But I also have AT&T. If I had a longer carrier name and that overlap was the result my iPhone OCD would drive me crazy.

I have the same issue with vodafone NL. I searched for it and found carriereditor . But for me this does not work on ios 7.
