Carrier or Apple?

This is more of a question for people who have ordered online the day it is available to do so. I know the apple website gets pretty bogged down, so have you found it more successful to order directly from apple or your carrier (att/verizon)? Also, what is the typical difference in time between being on sale at apple.com vs att.com?

Both methods are usually equally as slow but the carrier is probably your best bet at first. Most will go to apple.com before the carrier site.

I've always gone into the carrier store.

i'm more concerned with online orders. I have camped outside before, but would much rather stay up late, in bed, and preorder the day you are able to do so.

When the 4S came out I tried simultaneously from both Apple and Verizon. Both were slammed and it took forever to get an order through. Got it through with Apple first.
